Puppy Names Trending in 2022

Struggling to name your puppy? Elizabeth, Adele and Queenie are among the most popular dog names set to surge in 2022, new research has found.

According to research from Rover, inspiration for next year’s names come from England’s 2020 Euro stars, the biggest acts returning on tour (including Adele’s highly anticipated album), plus the third instalment of Legally Blonde heading to our screens.

“The names of England’s Euro 2020 stars saw a huge increase in 2021 and with next year’s World Cup fast approaching, it’d be no surprise to see a repeat trend,” say Rover. “Newcomers to the team like Emile Smith-Rowe, Conor Gallagher and Aaron Ramsdale could all behind the next generation of pup names.”

The team add: “With some of the biggest acts returning to their tours in 2022 and a full summer of festivals on the horizon, the sound of music may be the tipping point in naming conversations next year. With Britney Spears, Adele and Glasto all creating noise, it’s likely these names will be topping the charts.”
